Personal Background: Thao Tran O.D.
Dr. Tran received a B.A. degree in Biochemistry from Rutgers University in New Jersey. She worked as Pharmaceutical Research Associate for Schering-Plough Laboratory in Union, NJ and Roche Bioscience in Palo Alto, CA for 8 years. She moved to California to attend optometry school and earned her doctor of optometry degree from UC Berkeley School of Optometry.
Dr. Tran has been working as an optometrist for Sterling Visioncare in Mountain View, CA since her graduation from optometry school. Her specialty interests include primary eye care, contact lenses, and low vision. She is board certified and licensed to diagnose and treat diseases of the eye in the state of CA.
Dr. Tran is an active member of the Santa Clara County Optometric Society, the California Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. She is also a member of the San Jose Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau. She speaks Vietnamese fluently and clinical Spanish.
Dr. Tran has volunteered time and services to provide vision care to patients in the third-world countries via the VOSH (Voluntary Optometric Services to Humanity) program. She enjoys traveling, computer, and continuing education.
